ojirogawa

took a hike up along the ojiro river in search of the legendary hidden cascading waterfalls. after a 2 hour drive and getting lost on several winding back mountain roads, finally happened upon an old shinto shrine and a suspended bridge going over the river.

purification fountain at the entrance. the correct ediquette is to use the ladle and first rinse and then use your cupped hand to rinse your mouth and spit the water beside the fountain. i'm ashamed to say i was chugging it down.

bigfoot sighting!

after a 1 1/2 hour hike we found the totally secluded waterfalls!

i jumped in but as the the water is coming from melted snow it was freezing!
sat and had a picnic of some rice balls and staggered back home.
